Why artificial grass flooring can boost morale in the office
The definition of morale according to the Oxford Dictionary online is:
“The confidence, enthusiasm and discipline of a person or group at a particular time”
It is no wonder that many businesses are looking to revitalise their workspaces to encourage productivity, ensure that employees feel valued and ultimately have a high sense of morale.
Ever heard of the phrase, ‘the grass is greener’? We all love green, open spaces. Humans are attuned to feel at one with our natural environment and bringing the outside inside can enhance that feeling. What else do you get with artificial grass? No mess, an everlasting green colour and little to no maintenance. And you can be as creative as you allow — this is a perfect opportunity to get your team involved in how they would like their indoor space to look like.
Although it can never be 100% proven, the colour green is associated with creating emotionally positive feelings such as balance, growth, rejuvenation and safety.
You still haven’t convinced me
How would you feel if you walked into a reception and the office flooring was green grass (albeit artificial)? Or the boardroom table had been replaced by green grass and some comfy sofa chairs? Well, I am sure it would be the first thing you would notice. It is different. It is a talking point. An icebreaker you might say. It may also make you feel more relaxed, open and help banish any fixed notion of hierarchy.
So how can I use artificial grass in my office?
The sky is really the limit but this may also depend on your branding and what you want to project to the ‘outside world’. However, artificial grass can provide office flooring in a break out area, giving employees a space away from the desk to have lunch, have a coffee and rest those hard working brains. It may be that you want to create a grass walkway in the corridors or if you could add some artificial grass to your outdoor spaces at work such as a roof garden or terrace.
