Putting Greens

Evergreens artificial grass putting greens are the ideal way to practice and enjoy golf at home, work or for a leisure area. We offer a full custom service to make a putting green for your specific space and we also offer a standard range available in three different shapes and four sizes.
We use either our Nylon Pro or Grass Park artificial grass, depending on the performance level you wish to achieve. Both provide a great looking and realistic feel when playing. We also offer a range of fringes for the green - either our Lazy Grass, Lazy Summer or Lazy Supreme range of synthetic grasses, enabling you to practice short range chipping onto the golf green.
We do offer a professional UK wide fitting service to make any installation stress and trouble free. However, if you wish to install the green yourself, our putting green kits are ideal. They are cut to shape using our state of the art automated CAD cutting tables and come complete with hole cups, flags and fitting instructions.
For larger commercial projects, 9 hole short game courses and practice facilities please call our our Golf Specialist on 01572 767050 who can advise more specifically on products, design and arrange a site visit.
Nylon Pro Surface
The Nylon Pro surface is a top-of-the-range putting surface offering tournament like playing attributes to both the professional and amateur golfer. The Nylon surface plays at a medium/fast velocity for recreational use and slow/medium velocity when championship targeted.
Why does our Nylon Pro play so well?
The reason the ball roll is slow on a synthetic putting green when it’s first installed is because the fibres are stiff, due to the newness of the fibre. The fibres stand erect causing increased ball roll resistance. The balls roll faster over time as the fibres begin to loosen-up and this combined with the surface getting hard and compacted, causes the fibres to bend-over and lay flat decreasing ball resistance and making the ball roll faster. This speed increase can be frustrating.
A solution to this is to increase the number of fibres used in the synthetic grass. Evergreens Nylon Pro surface has the maximum tufting density possible. This increases the ball speed initially and slows it down over a period of time maintaining a more consistent stimp speed, usually between 8 and 10 (2.4m – 3m). With more fibre tips touching the ball as it rolls across the surface, this decreases the resistance when the fibre is new and helps slow the ball down. Also, with the fibres being soft, it prevents the ball from rolling too fast over a period of time.
To increase the playing speed, you can add kiln dry sand to the product (up to 12 kg per/sqm) and this means the stimp speed can be increased by 2 grades. Our Nylon Pro surface has been tested from all angles monitoring the 15 different lines a ball travels on its way to the hole and the results show a perfectly consistent and true line with no sudden variations of speed.
Grass Park
Grass Park Junior (14mm) is a top-of-the-range sports surface that has been used for a number of years and performs excellently as a putting green for the amateur golfer. It is fully UV stabilised and is made from 100% polypropylene. Although not tested to the standards of the Nylon Pro Surface, it offers consistent playing conditions and can be sand filled to 12 kg’s per/sqm to enable you to change the speed of the surface.
Evergreens Putting greens come complete with a 18mm rubber underlay shock-pad to ensure a perfect playing surface that has a realistic and heavy feel. Each green comes with hole cups and flags. More holes and flags can be added if you wish.
Fringe
A Lazy Grass fringe enhances the whole putting green area and enables you to practice your chipping and pitching. Lazy Grass is a soft fibrillated grass which is 40mm high and sand filled (25-30 kg’s per/sqm) providing you with a great area to chip from. The rubber shock-pad underneath the green acts as a cushion to the chipped ball absorbing its impact so it behaves as realistically as possible.
