Taylor Wimpey Artificial Lawn Lawn Installation
In June of 2013, Taylor Wimpey began work on a vision to turn a brown belt site of the Old Church Hospital in Romford into a collection of contemporary urban apartments providing much needed high quality housing for the local community and breathing new life into the town centre. Evergreens commercial projects division was very proud to have been selected to help them achieve this vision by supplying and laying down 269 m2 of our award winning artificial grass in the central communal podium area.
With the success of phase one that included an artificial lawn, Taylor Wimpey asked us to help them achieve completion on phase two. Six years in the making this site of 493 low carbon and sustainable apartments is near to completion and Evergreens UK is bringing in the green!
60 tons of stone and aggregate, 5 days and 4 hardworking installers later, the central communal podium was fitted out once again with LazyLawn, creating a lush, green and easy to sustain area for the residents to enjoy all year around.
We are also happy to report that the installation went completely to plan – on time and within budget – without a hiccup or hurricane in sight! Using our artificial LazyLawn product ensures that the Taylor Wimpey’s focus on sustainability is continued throughout the project. It goes hand in hand with a variety of features that the have been built into these apartment buildings to help reduce energy consumption and environmental impact. The green spaces nestled amongst the urban areas that we are responsible for provide clean, open spaces for the whole community to enjoy.
Our LazyLawn range is soft to the touch and is created using 3 colours’ specifically matched to the UK’s natural turf. Designed to be highly natural looking this long, lush, dense pile has two tone W-shaped bladed green yarns to aid recovery after activity which gives it an excellent life span. No mowing, no edging, no re-seeding – it requires minimum maintenance and no watering so it will always be green and safe for children and animals to play on whatever the weather or time of year.
