Big Brother 8 - Evergreens supplied and installed over 200sqm of Lazy Grass Olive. This artificial grass was used because of its proven track record in Big Brother 7 secret garden and the main lawn in Celebrity Big Brother 2007.
The lawn areas including the secret garden were installed in one day during the construction of the house. This year had new challenges over pervious years including the new smoking ban in England which resulted in all smoking being restricted to the garden. This problem was solved by the use of our Lazy Grass which was sand filled proving a naturally extinguishing characteristic. The infill of Lazy Grass also enables the product to lay 100% flat following the natural contours of the ground below whilst providing a fixing method to the floor without the need of folding the artificial grass over the timbers to fix.
During the show the garden was heavily used by 24 different housemates over a 14 week period, the lawn was extensively used for many things including tasks, sunbathing, and smoking. At the end of the show producers and design staff were surprised how good it looked with no sign of wear, or damage so it was left in place for a further television project planned for 2008.
